I believe in a world free from oppression and free from people working just to barely survive, while their labor contributes to increasing the wealth of those who also benefit from oppression. But, a world free from these things will not magically appear but can only be realized through participation of people united around common goals, struggling together and in solidarity with one another. This unity can arise from being in the streets, fighting and talking with one another. The People’s Power Summit is in that spirit. It is part of a process of realizing our commonness, our humanness and the linkages and struggles, from the small to the large. And in this process we start to identify what it is we are up against, what tactics and strategies we can employ. We become teachers, students and people’s fighters in struggle together. We increase our breath and breadth and realize our power.
